Intaglio’s surface is solid metal leaf, a first for Innovations. Delicate sheets of metal leaf are applied to a paper backing, then hand screen printed with color and a geometric pattern. Originally inspired by a textile that had been crushed and reopened, Intaglio resembles an etching that has been magnified to a usable mid-scale. The linear pattern, once printed, is brushed with additional metal leaf for a soft effect. Unexpected colors like blue (Steel) and green (Patina) give life to the highly reflective surface and make Intaglio a unique specialty wallcovering.
