The grid-like pattern of Tatami is meticulously assembled by artisans and carefully laminated onto recycled paper backing of a different color. This technique requires a perfect application to lay out the pattern correctly. After the woven structure is laminated to the backing, an over-dye process adds additional layers of color to the surface, enriching the cotton and cellulose material of this remarkable natural woven wallcovering.
